Emperor Divers is delighted to be able to support and work in partnership with AWARE – the Association of Women for Action & Research.
AWARE is Singapore’s leading gender equality advocacy group. Founded in 1985, and established by a group of women who recognised the need to address gender-based discrimination, they have been at the forefront of championing women’s rights in the country for nearly four decades.
Initially focused on issues like domestic violence, sexual harassment, and gender discrimination in the workplace, AWARE has expanded its scope over the years to include a broad range of social justice issues affecting women and marginalized communities.
Their belief is in “the rights of all individuals to make informed and responsible choices about their lives and to have equal opportunities in education, marriage and employment, and in the right of women to control their own bodies, particularly with regard to sexual and reproductive rights” and they remain “dedicated to removing gender-based barriers”.
The values of AWARE align perfectly with those of Emperor Divers.
We are proud of the large number of exceptional women we have working for us and who play a vital role in shaping the company we are.
We recently ran a series of features under the ‘Women of Emperor’ banner in which we tried to highlight the fantastic and wide-ranging work done by a diverse group of ladies within our organisation.
There is also a ‘girls-only’ sailing on our Red Sea North & Easy itinerary next year as we continue to do our best to make diving as accessible to as many women as possible.
As part of our support for AWARE, we are very pleased that we can offer them a free trip on our stunning Indonesia boat, Emperor Harmoni, for them to auction at their upcoming annual ball (September 7, 2024). If you are interested, you can bid here.
We very much hope the night – and the auction – are a great success and we look forward to working together with them more in the future.
