Treating our diving destinations with respect has long been a vitally important principle for Emperor Divers.
Be it the land we dive from, the waters we dive in, the creatures we dive to see or the people we dive with; we truly believe it is important to have a positive impact on the areas in which we operate.
That is one of the reasons our latest partnership with Bilikiki Cruises is such a good fit.
In the 25-plus years Bilikiki has been taking guests around the Solomon Islands it has done so in a manner that ensures environmentally sound diving practices and enables local people to benefit from us being there.
One project that has been a huge success, and carried out since Bilikiki first started, is our seed supply programme.
The company buys, and then supplies, seeds to local villagers and then buys back produce they have grown. This not only creates a source of income in villages with very little economic activity it also means Bilikiki guests get fresh fruit and vegetables during our trips.
It helps make dinner times on board a thing of absolute beauty. Main meals can be anything from hearty roast dinners to zesty tacos; there is a huge selection of tropical fruits for those who want to keep things light while, for those who want a little indulgence, our desserts provide a mealtime finale to remember. This is all made so much better by the beautiful fresh, local produce we work together to create.
And the variety of seeds we provide mean it is not only is the contents of our plates that get enhanced. The diverse also the diet of the locals we work with become more varied than they would have been.
From seed to plate – and everyone is a winner!
