A huge thank you to Kris and Nyoman for an epic day trip to Penida! They knew exactly where to take us and made sure we had an incredible encounter with a large group of mantas. Gliding alongside these graceful giants was a bucket-list moment we’ll never forget. Their guidance, safety briefings, and local knowledge made the whole experience smooth, safe, and truly special.
The boat was comfortable, the equipment well-maintained, and the dive sites chosen perfectly according to conditions. Whether you’re an experienced diver or relatively new, this team will look after you brilliantly.

I felt completely safe under Stephan’s supervision and wish I could have him with me for every dive! I definitely want to return in the future to continue my learning and develop my skills further.
As for Emperor Divers themselves, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. I particularly enjoyed it when the staff helped me to put my fins on before getting into the water – absolute superstars!
When I booked onto my course, I received prompt communication advising me how to access my E-learning and they were quick to answer all questions which was very helpful and gave me confidence that I had picked a great dive school.
My biggest priority when choosing my dive school was safety, which sometimes comes with additional challenges as a female – particularly if doing the course alone! Having the transfers arranged by the dive school came in very handy here, and of course, meeting all the friendly staff and fellow divers on arrival.
Overall, I had an incredible time and had so much fun as well! I would recommend Emperor Divers to everyone and I will hopefully come back time and time again in the future.

We just finished the last day of a 10-day “Best of Raja Ampat” on the Emperor Harmoni. We capped it off at site “Blue Magic” where we had 11 mantas at this cleaning station. We used reef hooks to enjoy an hour of 6 or 7 mantas overhead, alongside and behind us on our side of the pinnacle, and another 5 entertaining our divers on the other side of the pinnacle.
We kept lights off and the mantas grew comfortable enough to approach within touching (but we didn’t) distance. They “flew” over, alongside, and close – even from below us to provide all kinds of perspectives. One could watch the multitude of cleaner fish servicing the mantas below us. It was so exciting to see them fly in right at us.
Other highlights at other sites include Wobbegong Sharks, Turtles, Seahorses, and Sweetlips that ignored divers and let you photograph them up close without being spooked.
Dive operations and meals are great. Food was never boring and the salon stewards quickly learn all or individual preference. Zodiac logistics (getting them in and out of the water) were efficient and fast! We dove with our friends. Zodiacs were never crowded. Ours went out with 3 of us.
Phillipe’s dive briefings were the BEST graphics in the business.
Crew was very fun. And safety was foremost – comforting for this remote part of the world.

Day Diving
Emperor offers day diving in the Solomon Islands, Indonesia and Egypt. On the Red Sea we have three centres with a variety of different ‘feels’ – from the vibrant Sharm el Sheikh to relaxed Wadi Sabarah. In the Solomons, Emperor Divers Honiara provides unrivalled access to incredible World War II history and stunning marine life while Emperor Lembongan in Indonesia is perfectly situated to explore the world-famous Coral Triangle.
